Get ready for Earth Day!! and beyond with these Green Chic bits of advice from Christie Matheson. Her new book, Green Chic: Saving the the Earth in Style is a chatty book that dispels the myth that going green and staying fashion forward don’t go hand in hand.

Unlike other books that tell you how to buy your way to be green, Matcheson intead shares ways to shift your mindset and attitude by helping you understand “why” certain green choices are so much better.
Tips on wash and care of all your pretty things to five ways to green your beauty routine. Some of the info is more of a reminder, but the book is packed full of online resources and info on “why” to make eco-choices.
And if that wasn’t enough - Green Chic is printed on 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper, and 50% of all royalties Christie Matheson earns will go to environmental organizations. So you can learn and give with Green Chic…
Go on live green, live gorgeous!!

We all should use purse hooks - and there’s finally one that’s easy to carry around all the time.
Purse hooks aren’t exactly new, but he first purse hooks were just big and awkward extra weight in your purse - you could poke your eye out! Instead Clip Chic is a slick handy purse hook wraps around the circular top, so it’s not awkward and bulky like some of the original hooks.
With this must have fashion accessory, every woman now has a place to hang her purse. With ClipChic, your purses stay clean and secure - - and not on the floor.

One of the most remarkable and beautiful wedding gifts I have ever seen was created by one of my sisters for another sister’s wedding. She built a pristine "wedding cake" from white towels and decorated it with ribbons, held in place with pearl pins, and hid a cd in one of the layers, not that anything additional was needed.
Creating a towel cake can be as simple or as complicated as you need it to be. It is easy to make it unique with your own special touches and add personal touches that will make it an unforgettable part of any wedding or shower.
Step 1. Roll the Towels
Fold each hand towel in half lengthwise twice. Start with one end and roll the towels together. Set aside. Repeat this process with the wash cloths. Fold each bath towel in half lengthwise and repeat the folding until the width of the towel is roughly 6". Roll the two towels together in the same way as the hand towels. You should now have the three layers of the cake.
Step 2. Assembling The Layers
I used large wide rubber bands to hold each individual layer together for ease of handling. To decorate choose ribbon in colors that coordinate with the towels or wedding colors.
Step 3. This is the fun part! Use your imagination and decorate with silk flowers, fall leaves or wedding bells. I placed the cake on a footed cake plate for presentation.
These tasteful cakes look so delicious. But please do not eat. This delicious looking designed favor will make your mouth water, but it is calorie free.
Different Towel Cakes for Different Occasions
A towel cake is a unique and creative way to give a Gift for a wedding shower or a housewarming gift. I use matching bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths for the Towel cake. There will be 2 - 30 X 54" bath towels, 4 - 16 X 26" hand towels and 3 - 12 X 12 wash cloths. For a romantic theme, I use bath products such as lotions, bubble bath, incense, bath beads and other items. Decorations for your wedding towel cakes are limited only by your imagination.
Cake Towel Gain More Popularity
Cake towel is practical and yet full of personality; so despite of the price which is a bit higher than traditional wedding gifts, people still prefer it as cute and romantic Wedding Gifts for the once a lifetime occassion.
Looking for something special for your Wedding Gifts? Cake towel is a practical yet romantic Gifts to send in this unforgettable occasion.

February marks the holiday when loved ones exchange flowers and gifts in the name of St. Valentine.
The facts about Valentine’s Day and its patron saint are shrouded in mystery. What is commonly known is the fact that February has been a month of romance for a long time in both Christian and ancient Roman traditions.
It is also believed that 14 February marks the wedding of Zeus and Hera the God and Goddess of love and fertility (from the ancient Greek Mythology)
The first recorded association of Valentine’s Day with romantic love is in Parlement of Foules (1382) by Geoffrey Chaucer the great English poet.

The key to any professional make up look is getting your base right. If you apply your foundation and concealer correctly, your skin will look natural, smooth and unblemished. Get it wrong and you may end up looking like Dale Winton’s love child.
Fortunately, if you follow these 3 simple steps you can ensure that your foundation will always look natural and beautiful, giving you the base to perfect the rest of your look.
Stage 1 - Moisturize
5 minutes before applying your make up you should properly moisturise your skin as all bases will apply smoothly to well hydrated skin.
Remember to remove any excess moisturiser just before you start to apply your foundation as greasy skin will make the foundation slip and slide as you apply.
Stage 2 - Apply your foundation
The key to remember when applying your foundation is less is more. Never apply your foundation in large swathes, simply apply a few dots around your face and then blend together using either your fingers, or a foundation sponge.
Ensure the foundation is well blended around your hairline and jaw as these are the places where any joins are more likely to be noticeable. You should always choose a foundation which blends well with your skin tone and it is worth experimenting to find exactly the right shade for you.
Whenever possible you should apply your base in the same light as you will be wearing it, (i.e. for daytime use sunlight) as lighting does make a difference to your look.
Stage 3 - Apply Concealer
Again, you should use concealer sparingly to cover any obvious shadows (particularly under the eyes) and blemishes, which are showing through the foundation. Remember that in summer you may need to use a darker concealer if your skin is tanned.
Apply your concealer a few small dots at a time and blend with your fingers using a gentle back and forth dotting motion. Avoid pulling or rubbing the skin, particulary under the sensitive eye area.
Following the steps above and combining with high quality products will ensure you always have the perfect base on which to build your dream look.

Buy a well known domestic brand. In the USA this would be Victoria’s Secret. If you know the woman has little lingerie, this might be a ‘safe way to go’.
-
Buy an internationally known brand of lingerie that is less common at home. This could be more interesting for the woman who has everything. She probably does not have a major Italian or French brand of lingerie. In fact, she may not even be aware of these brands. Buying a brand of luxury designer lingerie popular in another country, would make for an exotic and exciting gift. This website has links to some of the world’s top brands of sexy lingerie.
-
When budgets are limited, consider discount lingerie. These days, with the uncertain economy, there are huge discounts to be found in luxury items like lingerie. You may not find them on a particular brand. But there are some websites that specialize in discount lingerie.

Shopping on-line is a fun activity, especially during the holiday season when you shop for loved ones. It offers you a wider range of choices as compared to a mall or a shopping center. You also save time as well as money doing it right from the comfort of your home snuggled on a comfortable chair by the fire place.

Milan will commemorate 10 years since the murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace by hosting a red carpet evening at La Scala opera house with a homage to ballets he helped design — including "Sudden Death."
Around 1,500 guests are expected to attend Sunday’s event, which will be a tribute to some 12 ballets for which Versace designed costumes in collaboration with choreographer Maurice Bejart. Versace was gunned down on the street outside his Miami Beach mansion on July 15, 1997.
